Although we enjoyed our time at Brunswick Landing Marina (BLM), we are thrilled and excited to finally be unleashed from the dock and on the move again! We are going to miss our new friends that we made, but know we will meet again. Special thanks to the BLM staff who always go out of their way to see that your needs are met.

Our friends Jane, David and  their two Yorkies Mollie and Boo-Boo on “So Far So Good” arrived on Thursday and it was awesome to see them again. They rode out this past hurricane season in Oriental, NC. We will be buddy boating together to the Bahamas along with two other boats. We managed to do some final provisioning and left BLM the following day for Fernandina Beach, Fl. The weather promised around 10 knots of wind so we decided to travel outside with the hopes of having a decent sail.  However, the wind forecast did not pan out and although we hoisted the canvas, the winds never made it past 6 knots which is not enough to move the boat.

After spending the night in the Fernandina mooring field, we took off for Sisters Creek in Jacksonville where we rendezvoused with our other friend and buddy boater, Gregg on SV “Cantabile”. We left in the morning for St. Augustine, Fl.

We all arrived later in the day where we will spend five days in the North mooring field before continuing on our journey. St. Augustine is a neat city full of charm and history, so deciding to stay a few days was a no brainer. Besides, Sailors Exchange (marine consignment shop) is just a short walk from the marina and we all had a few items to pick up.

We hooked up with our old friends Kendra, Bruce and a few other boaters for dinner at the White Lyon. Another great day!
